After the death of the Grantor(s) of a revocable living trust, the surviving or successor Trustee follows the directives in the trust for payment of the Grantor’s debts and management and distribution of trust assets.
There are a few formalities that a successor or surviving trustee must follow. Successor or surviving trustees should contact an attorney upon the death of the Grantor of a revocable trust to review the tasks of the trust administration process, the status of the trust assets, and the trustee’s legal duties in administering the trust.
